Newport to Caerphilly
Description
This ride follows NCN routes 47 and 8 from Newport to Caerphilly. You begin on the River Usk in Newport and head to the pretty village of Machen passing through the beautiful Rhymney Valley and the village of Draethen. This first section is mainly on road although there is a pleasant off road section along the Usk at the start. From Machen you join a great traffic free section along the River Rhymney which takes you to Lansbury Park and then onto Caerphilly, finishing near the castle.
