Upton Country Park
Upton Country Park, consists of 100 acres of parkland situated on the north west edge of Poole, Dorset. Attractions include formal and informal gardens, open parkland, woodlands, farmland and the Grade II listed Upton House. There are also fine views towards the town across Poole Harbour. The route can be extended to Poole town centre by cycling or walking along the Holes Bay path.
Just to the north you'll find the Upton Heath Nature Reserve. There's miles of trails here with fine views towards Poole Harbour and Corfe Castle from the high points. You can also pick up the popular Castleman Trailway here.

The park has splendid on site tea rooms with a lovely terrace where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Walled Garden. It's a great spot for a rest on a warm summer day.
Further Information and Other Local Ideas
The Castleman Trailway starts at the park and offers a good way of extending your exercise. The shared cycling and walking trail runs all the way to Ringwood along a good, flat path. On the way it visits two other fine country parks in the area - Avon Heath Country Park and Moors Valley Country Park.

Upton Country Park. This is 100 acres of attractive gardens,parkland and woodland on the shores of Poole harbour. It was opened to the public in 1976 and is now owned and managed by Poole Borough council.
Peacock Enclosure. The beautiful gardens of Upton Country Park are situated in the grounds of Upton House and have more than 100 acres of woodland, parkland and shoreline. The park belongs to Poole and is freely accessible.
Upton House, though modest in size, echoes the elegance of late 18th Century and early 19th Century Britain. It forms the focal point of the Upton estate (which once extended to a thousand acres) and is now the centre piece of Poole’s only Country Park. The House was presented to Poole Council in 1957 and from 1961 to 1969 the House was occupied by Carol Hohenzollern, Prince of Romania. Upton House is now used for conferences, training courses, seminars, meetings, team building days, dinners, buffets, receptions and exhibitions.
