Aldie Burn Forest Walk

1.9 miles (3 km)

This circular walk takes you along the Aldie Burn Trail in the Morangie Forest. The scenic area is located near Tain in the County of Ross, in the Highlands of Scotland.
The route follows well ...made forest paths through a mix of conifer and broadleaf woodland, creating a peaceful setting rich in birdlife and the scent of pine. The burn itself runs alongside much of the route, its clear water flowing over stones and beneath small bridges, adding to the tranquillity of the setting.
As the path gently rises through the trees, there are occasional clearings offering views across the surrounding hills and farmland. The area is home to red squirrels, roe deer and a variety of woodland birds, making it an appealing route for wildlife watchers as well as walkers. In spring and summer, the forest floor is dotted with wildflowers, while in autumn the woodland turns vivid shades of gold and red.
The route is waymarked and easy to follow, beginning and ending near a small car park to the west of Tain. It provides a pleasant and relatively gentle walk through classic Highland scenery, with the sound of the burn never far away.
