This Wirral based town has become a popular place for visitors. It includes a lovely beach, an interesting 19th century fort, a huge lido and the longest seaside promenade in Britain.
This walk from the town takes you along the Wirral Circular Trail to visit the North Wirral Coastal Park.
The walk starts from the car park at the Marine Lake at the north eastern tip of the Wirral, near to the lighthouse. From here you can pick up a shared cycling and walking path heading west along the beach to Leasowe and Mockbeggar Wharf. Near here you will come to the 400 acre North Wirral Coastal Park. The park is the largest on the Wirral and includes pleasant trails along the Birket Stream and the wildlife rich Ditton Lane Nature Reserve.
