Roseisle Beach and Forest Walk

4 miles (6.5 km)

This circular walk explores Roseisle Beach and Roseisle Forest on the Moray Coast in Burghead.
You can start your walk from the forest car park and follow trails along the beach with fine views over Burghead Bay.
The area is known for its long stretches of golden sand backed by tall pine trees, offering a peaceful blend of coastal and woodland scenery. Along the beach you may spot seals basking offshore or oystercatchers and curlews feeding along the tideline.... The forest trails wind through dense pines and open glades filled with the scent of resin and sea air, where red squirrels and roe deer are often seen darting between the trees.
Old wartime defenses and concrete bunkers still stand along parts of the shore, giving a glimpse into the area’s World War II history. On clear days the Moray Firth provides distant views toward the Black Isle and sometimes even glimpses of dolphins in the water. Picnic tables and sheltered spots near the dunes make it a relaxing place to linger before looping back through the forest to the car park.
You can continue your walking in the area by picking up the Moray Coast Trail on the Hopeman to Burghead Walk. You could also head west to visit the lovely Findhorn Bay on the Findhorn to Burghead Walk.
