Sygun Copper Mine Walk

2.8 miles (4.5 km)

This walk visit the Sygun Copper Mine from the village of Beddgelert. You can start the walk from the car park in Beddgelert and then follow trail east for about 1.5 miles to the mine....
The Sygun Copper Mine offers a fascinating insight into the area’s industrial heritage, with tunnels and caverns that were once part of an extensive nineteenth-century mining operation. Today, it serves as a visitor attraction where the underground workings have been restored to show how copper ore was extracted and processed.
The walk from Beddgelert follows the Afon Glaslyn through beautiful mountain scenery, with steep valley sides and glimpses of Snowdonia’s higher peaks. As you approach the mine, the landscape opens out to reveal views across the surrounding hills and the nearby settlement of Nantmor.
You can extend the walk by continuing east to visit the lovely Llyn Dinas.
