Enjoy a waterside walk around Thrybergh Reservoir in this beautiful country park in Rotherham.
The park has 170 species of wildflower and plants, 200 species of birds and 20 species of mammals. It is surrounded by some truly lovely Yorkshire countryside making for a splendid short stroll.
The distance around lake is just under 2 miles so it should take around 45 minutes to an hour to walk around.
The park has good facilities with two bird hides, a play area and a lakeside cafe.

Pubs/Cafes

There's a nice on site cafe next to the water where you can buy a good range of refreshments. There's also a decent picnic area if you'd prefer to bring your own food.

Dog Walking

The lakeside trails makes for a fine dog walk. The park is popular with dog owners so you'll probably see other of our four legged friends on your visit.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

To the west of the park you can pick up the Rotherham Round Walk and explore the countryside and villages surrounding the town. If you follow it south you could visit the worthy village of Wickersley and visit Wickersley Woods.
To the north there's the impressive Conisbrough Viaduct and the pretty Sprotbrough Falls to visit. You can reach these local highlights on the Don Valley Way which runs through the park.
To the south there's Ulley Country Park and another waterside trail around Treeton Dyke.

Lovely view across the lake. The site was created between 1876 and 1880 as a source of drinking water, primarily to serve the population of Doncaster to the east.
