Llyn Coastal Path
Follow the Llyn Peninsula from Caernarfon to Porthmadog on this stunning coastal walk. The route is often completed in 7 sections:
Caernarfon to Trefor
Trefor to Morfa Nefyn
Morfa Nefyn to Llangwnnadl
Llangwnnadl to Aberdaron via the fine beaches and viewpoints at Whistling Sands and Porth Iago
Aberdaron to Abersoch
Abersoch to Pwllheli
Pwllheli to Porthmadog
As well as the stunning scenery you can look out for bottle-nosed dolphins and Atlantic grey seals as these are often seen off the coast. Near Trefor you can enjoy wonderful views of the three peaks of Yr Eifl and the fascinating hill fort at Tre'r Ceiri. There's also a visit to the historically significant castle in Criccieth.

Pubs/Cafes
The excellent Caffi Meinir is located on the route near to Yr Eifl. The cafe is in a wonderful location, overlooking the beautiful coastline of the area. You can sit outside and enjoy your meal with wonderful views over Porth Y Nant. You can find the cafe at Nant Gwrtheyrn, Llithfaen with a postcode of LL53 6NL for your sat navs. The site also includes a Welsh language school and museum where you can find out about the fascinating history of the area.
In this area there's also the village of Trefor where you could visit Tafarn Y Tŵr. The friendly pub serves a good pint and as a nice garden area to sit out in. You can find them at Eifl Rd, LL54 5LH. Near here you can also visit the unusual landscape of the Trefor Quarry and the rock formations at the Trefor Sea Stacks.
At Porthdinllaen you could stop off at the noteworthy Tŷ Coch Inn. The excellent pub is one of the best in Wales and was named in the top ten beach bars in the world in a recent survey. It's located next to the beach where you can sit outside and look out for seals in the water. There's also wonderful views over the Irish Sea to The Rivals here. You can find the inn at postcode LL53 6DB for your sat navs.
At Llanbedrog you will find a beautiful National Trust owned beach and the excellent Llanbedrog Beach Bar. There's sunny sheltered terraces and a cosy restaurant where you can enjoy splendid sea views with your meal. The bar was named in the UK’s Top 20 Beach Bars by the Sunday Times.
Further Information and Other Local Ideas
Near Criccieth you could take a small detour to visit the village of Llanystumdwy. Here you will find the grave of former Prime Minister David Lloyd George. Lloyd George lived in Llanystumdwy until he was 16, developing many of his strong political views. In the village there is an interesting museum where you can learn all about his life. Morfa Bychan. A close-up of a waymarker, showing Gwynedd Council's revival of the accurate form of Graig Ddu for Blackrock. Since submitting this I have spoken to local people, and they say Blackrock Sands has always been known as Y Greigddu (stress on the first syllable). The wide sandy beach is a real highlight of the area with sand dunes, a large multi-coloured headland rock, low-tide caves, rock pools, and a variety of marine life.

Beyond the sand spit is the estuary of Afor Dwyfor.
Steps and hurdle on the Llyn Coastal path south of Hendy. The section of path between Cadlan Isaf and the Ysgo road is a bit of a steeplechase and is best suited to people with long legs. There are five stiles to cross.
