Ogwr Ridgeway Walk
Enjoy spectacular views of the Ogwr Fach, Garw and Llynfi valleys on this walk from Mynydd Maendy to Margam Country Park near Port Talbot. The walk passes through the village of Blackmill, located at the confluence of the Ogwr Fach and Ogmore rivers. You finish at the splendid Margam Country Park.
The attraction includes the magnificent Margam Castle, an 18th Century Orangery with ornamental gardens and the Deer Park, all set within 1000 acres of beautiful countryside.
The walk is waymarked with a green and white disc.

At the end of the route in Margam you could follow a footpath north to visit Brombil Reservoir. The picturesque turquiose coloured lake is a lovely place for a peaceful stroll. From the hills surrounding the lake there are fine views to the coast too. You can find the site just a mile north of the route finish point in Margam Country Park.
In Blackmill the route links with the Ogmore Valley Cycle Route. This shared cycling and walking trail runs along a disused railway line from Aberkenfig to Nant-y-Moel. It's a nice way of further exploring the valley on a pleasant surfaced path.

Ridgeway walk towards Mynydd Baedan. Looking south east along a stretch of the lane which passes through the grid square at a spot fairly close to the square's eastern margin. The 20 km Ridgeway Walk follows the lane at this point and for over 1 km both to the south east and the north west of here; and in the distance can be seen Mynydd Baedan over whose slopes this walk continues by footpath once the lane is left to the south east.

Lane/ridgeway walk by Mynydd Ty-talwyn Looking north-northwest along the lane which passes through the south and west of the grid square. For the course of its passage through the square, and three others to the west and north west, this lane doubles as a stretch of the Ridgeway Walk.
