Ben Cleuch Circular Walk

5.9 miles (9.5 km)

This circular walk climbs to Ben Cleuch from the village of Tillicoultry in the Ochil Hills.
Starting from the car park in the village you head north to climb The Law before reaching the 721 metre high summit of Ben Cleuch. The route then descends to Ben Ever and Wood Hill where you can explore the Ochil Hills Woodland Park.... The park includes a car park which offers and alternative start point to the walk.
The rewarding route offers fine views across Clackmannanshire and beyond, with the Forth Valley, Stirling Castle and the distant Trossachs all visible on a clear day. The ascent of The Law provides an early sense of height as the landscape opens out across the glens and ridges of the Ochil range. From the summit of Ben Cleuch, the highest of the Ochil Hills, the panorama stretches from the Firth of Forth to the Grampian Mountains, making it one of the most scenic viewpoints in central Scotland.
The descent via Ben Ever and Wood Hill offers a gentler return through grassy slopes and moorland, eventually leading into the sheltered trails of the Ochil Hills Woodland Park. Here, woodland paths follow streams and waterfalls through Tillicoultry Glen, providing a peaceful contrast to the open uplands above. This mix of rugged hilltop and tranquil woodland makes the walk an ideal way to experience the variety of landscapes found within the Ochil Hills.
