The historic settlement includes a 15th century church, interesting old mills, a Grade I listed 17th century house and several Grade II listed buildings. For walkers there's lots of good options in the nearby Blackdown Hills AONB and through the pretty Culm Valley.
This walk in the town takes you along the pretty mill leat walk on the eastern side of the settlement. There's a nice surfaced footpath taking you along the pretty waterway to the town's historic mills.

To the west you can visit the splendid Bickleigh Mill and pick up the Exe Valley Way for more riverside walking.
For an alternative circular walk around the city see the Exeter Green Circle. This 12 mile trail visits the Alphin Brook Valley, the village of Alphington, the Hoopern Valley, Mincinglake Valley Park and The Ludwell Valley.
To the north there's Uffculme where you can visit the lovely deer park on the Bridwell Estate. In the village there's also the historic Coldharbour Mill with its fascinating working wool museum.

Cullompton Mill Leat walk. Passable by Wheelchair from town to Lower Mill and from Tesco's car park. There where a few tables and benches along this stretch but these where slowly eaten by local teenagers, no trace remains. A Kingfisher can be seen quite regularly in the mornings from the bridge (shown) around the corner to the remains of Middle Mill, nesting boxes can be seen here also.

Cullomptons Lower Mill. The Lower Mill race and the end of hard standing, passable by wheelchair if you have the really thin version but ends in mud. The CCa fields are behind.The Mill from at least the 1670s is now a private residence. If you are on foot, left at the top brings you into the south of town by the Magistrates court.

Higher Mill, Cullompton. The first of the mills when approached from the B3181 end, this stretch prone to silt build up and then rushes would take root. The recent addition of ducks seems to have cut back on foliage problem, 20 years ago it was not uncommon to see men with scythes cutting it back. It dates back to at least the 1700's and the name Pidgeon searched online will bring up a better history. It is fed by the raised section across the B3181.

Mill Leat Walk. The entrance to Cullomptons CCA fields at the end of the Leat walk. Passable by wheelchair only at speed. The CCA car park is a few hundred yards on the right. The area is used a lot by dog owners. The gate is a remnant from the days when Livestock was held on these fields.
