Hudeshope Beck Walk

3.3 miles (5.3 km)

This circular walk follows the Hudeshope Beck Walk and the Skears Walk in County Durham. The scenic area is located just north of Middleton in Teesdale and includes a series of pretty waterfalls.
The route takes you through the attractive countryside of upper Teesdale, with the Hudeshope Beck and Skears sections providing a mixture of open farmland, woodland and peaceful valley scenery.... The waterfalls are the main highlights, with several cascades and rocky pools along the becks adding interest to the walk.
The surrounding landscape has the distinctive character of the North Pennines, with stone walls, grassy hillsides and broad views across the dale. The paths around the becks also provide opportunities to see the area's wildlife, particularly around the wooded and waterside sections.
Middleton in Teesdale makes a useful base for exploring the area and is well worth visiting after the walk, with its attractive stone buildings and location beside the River Tees.
