Well laid out footpaths take you through woodland, parkland and gardens.... In the walled garden you can see 30,000 tulips while in the grounds there's red deer, yew topiary and a ha ha. There is also a knot garden and a paved sculpture court. It's a fabulous place for a peaceful stroll with 960 acres of parkland to explore.

The present Sledmere House dates back 1751 when Sir Richard Sykes, demolished the previous house and built a new one, planting some 20,000 trees on the Wolds around it. Sir Christopher Sykes, 2nd Baronet (1749–1801) greatly expanded the estate.
Fountain set in an ornamental pond forms part of a vista from the house itself.
