Tideswell Dale and Peter's Stone Walk

7.1 miles (11.4 km)

This circular walk explores Tideswell Dale before heading to Miller's Dale, Cressbrook Dale and Peter's Stone.
Starting in Tideswell village the walk heads south through Tideswell Dale where there are good footpaths, pretty streams and fine views of the Peak District hills.
The route then enters Miller's Dale and heads east along a pleasant riverside path next to the River Wye. At Cressbrook you turn north through Cressbrook Dale where you can visit the photogenic Peter's Stone. The interesting limestone dome resembles the basilica of St Peter's in Rome.... It's also known as Gibbet Rock as it was the site of the last ever Gibbeting in Derbyshire.
From here you head west along country lanes to Litton before returning to Tideswell village.
