This walk visits Lough Arrow in County Sligo.
There is a parking area at Loughbrick Bay on the eastern side of the lake. From here you can pick up a quiet country lane and enjoy a stroll along the lakeside with fine views across the water to the surrounding Bricklieve Mountains.... The area is great for birdwatching with a number of duck species wintering here. Look out for mallard, wigeon, teal, red-breasted merganser, tufted duck, pochard and goldeneye. Other bird species found at the lake include great crested grebe, little grebe, cormorant and mute swan.
You can continue your walking by visiting the ancient site of Carrowkeel.
