Lough Beg

3.2 miles (5.2 km)

This walk visits Lough Beg on the border between County Londonderry and County Antrim.
On the western side of the lough there are some quiet footpaths with fine views over the water.
The lough is also a renowned, internationally important wetland and RAMSAR site, featuring the Church Island National Nature Reserve, which attracts wintering wildfowl and breeding waders. Look out for birds such as black-tailed godwit, green sandpiper, wood sandpiper, greenshank and knot as you make your way along the paths.
You can continue your walking by heading south to pick up the Oxford Island Lough Neagh Walk.
