Loughor Estuary Walk

This walk begins on the edge of the Loughor Estuary at Llanelli, heading east through the Millennium Coastal Park.
The route keeps close to the water, with wide views over the tidal flats and the gentle curve of the estuary as it narrows towards Loughor. The open setting gives a calm feel, with long stretches of level walking and the sound of water moving across the mudflats....
A short way along you pass areas of saltmarsh and low scrub where wading birds and gulls are often seen feeding at low tide. Occasional herons and oystercatchers work the channels, adding a bit of interest without dominating the walk.
As you continue towards Loughor the views shift gradually, with the distant bridge coming into sight and the opposite shore rising slightly in the background.
