Oxwich to Rhossili Coastal Walk

11.1 miles (17.8 km)

This walk follows a section of the Wales Coast Path from Oxwich to Rhossili. The route runs for about 11 miles, following the waymarked path west from Oxwich.... On the way you can enjoy some fine views over Port-Eynon Bay and Rhossili Bay at the western end.
As you leave the sheltered sands of Oxwich Bay, the trail climbs onto dramatic limestone cliffs, leading you through the ancient woodland of Oxwich Wood and past the secluded, pebbly shores of Slade and Overton. A key highlight is the approach to Port-Eynon Point, where the remains of an 18th-century salt house provide a glimpse into the region's industrial past. This stretch is a sanctuary for diverse wildlife; keep a keen eye out for Atlantic grey seals bobbing in the swells or peregrine falcons patrolling the rugged cliff faces.
Continuing westward, the path becomes increasingly wild as it nears the iconic Rhossili Bay. You will pass the spectacular rock formations of Paviland Cave, a site of immense archaeological significance where the "Red Lady of Paviland" was discovered. The final approach over the high, windswept plateau of Rhossili Down rewards you with a world-class vista of the three-mile-long golden beach and the tidal island of Worm's Head. During late summer, the cliffs are blanketed in vibrant purple heather and yellow gorse, creating a stunning backdrop for one of the most visually rewarding long-distance coastal walks in Britain.
