Moel Findeg Walk

5.2 miles (8.3 km)

This circular walk takes you to Moel Findeg Walk in the Clwydian Range AONB.
You can start the walk from the car park and visitor centre in Loggerheads Country Park. From here you head south towards Maeshafn and Moel Findeg.... The mountain contains a 56-acre local nature reserve, notable for an unusual area of lowland heathland found at a relatively high elevation. This heath is actively managed using conservation grazing ponies, a herd originally brought from the Carneddau in northern Snowdonia.
The landscape also includes areas of birch woodland and offers open views across the Alyn Valley towards the iconic Moel Famau. To the east, the outlook extends across much of Flintshire, with clear conditions allowing views as far as Merseyside and the Cheshire Plain. The highest point, known as the Bishop’s Chair, is privately owned, but access is provided via a permissive footpath.
