This walk visits the Beltany Stone Circle near the town of Raphoe in County Donegal.
The site is located just south of Raphoe and is free to explore. You could follow a pleasant country lane south from the town on foot if you prefer.
At the site you can enjoy a stroll around the ancient stones while enjoying some splendid views over the surrounding countryside.... There's also some peaceful woodland areas and free parking for around 6 cars.

Beltany Stone Circle
Dating from the late Neolithic to early Bronze Age (approx. 2100–700 BCE), the site consists of 64 remaining stones, though it is believed to have originally contained around 80.
Standing stone and Beltany Stone Circle
Standing stone and Beltany Stone Circle. Its name is derived from Bealtaine (the Gaelic May Day festival). A large triangular stone on the northeast side, decorated with prehistoric cup marks, aligns with the sunrise on 1 May.
