Chinley to Edale Walk

This walk takes you from Chinley to Edale using a mixture of country lanes, public footpaths and a section of the Pennine Way. The route runs for about 7.5 miles, first heading north to Chinley Head before turning east to Oaken Clough, Upper Booth and Edale.
The route passes through some beautiful Peak District countryside, with open fields, wooded valleys and fine views across the surrounding hills.... The section around Chinley Head provides a peaceful start before the route heads towards the Upper Booth valley and the more rugged landscapes around Edale.
The Pennine Way adds a particularly scenic section to the walk as it approaches Edale. This famous long-distance trail was the first National Trail in England and runs for around 268 miles from the Peak District to the Scottish Borders, passing through some of the country's finest upland landscapes.
The walk finishes in Edale, one of the best-known walking villages in the Peak District. Surrounded by dramatic hills and lying at the southern end of the Pennine Way, it makes an excellent destination for exploring the wider Edale Valley and the surrounding countryside.
