Hathersage Fairy Woods Walk

This short circular walk visits the Fairy Woods in Hathersage. The woods lie just to the north east of the village and are reached through a charming stone-framed doorway, which crosses a small stream before entering the beautiful beech woodland.
The trees create a peaceful setting, with the stream running alongside the edge of the wood and a network of woodland paths to explore.... In spring the woodland floor is carpeted with bluebells, while in summer the trees are filled with birdsong. Autumn brings particularly attractive colours, while even in winter the tall beech trees and babbling stream make this a beautiful place for a walk. The route provides a pleasant short outing from Hathersage, with the Fairy Woods providing the main highlight.
