Jersey Corbiere Railway Walk
3.7 miles (5.9 km)This shared cycling and walking trail follows the route of a long-abandoned railway line from the picturesque village of St Aubin to the iconic La Corbiere Lighthouse.
The trail runs for just under 4 miles, along a well maintained path with a gentle, steady climb through a variety of landscapes, including sheltered woodland tunnels, open heathland, and quiet urban sections.
Starting at the junction of Charing Cross and la Rue au Moestre in St Aubin, the walk initially feels like a step deep into nature with its tree-lined corridors that provide excellent shade and shelter from the elements. Along the way, you can spot relics of the island’s past, including old railway sleepers and structures that were even used during the German Occupation....
As you approach the western end at La Corbiere, the scenery opens up to provide extensive views of the Atlantic coast and, on clear days, the neighboring island of Guernsey. For those looking for a break, the trail features several 'pit stops,' such as the Off The Rails cafe or the nearby Jersey Lavender Farm, where you can find refreshments just a short distance from the main path.
The journey concludes at the stunning granite rocks of the southwest coast, where you can see the first concrete lighthouse built in the British Isles.
You can continue your exercise on the St Helier to St Aubin Walk.
