Ludlow Bread River Walk

1.9 miles (3 km)

This circular walk in Ludlow takes you along the 'Bread Walk' visiting a number of historic sites and a waterside trail along the River Teme.
The Bread Walk is one of Ludlow's best-known local paths, following a pleasant route beneath mature trees along the banks of the River Teme on the southern edge of the town. The riverside setting provides attractive views of the water, wooded slopes and historic buildings, with the route changing character through the seasons as the surrounding woodland comes into leaf or takes on autumn colours.
Along the walk there are views towards the medieval town and the imposing silhouette of Ludlow Castle, one of the finest Norman fortresses in England.... The route also passes close to Dinham Bridge and other historic features associated with the town's long history as an important market and administrative centre on the Welsh border.
The combination of riverside scenery, mature woodland and historic landmarks makes the Bread Walk a popular and easily accessible route, offering a different perspective on Ludlow away from the town's busy streets and market square.
To extend the walk pick up the Mortimer Trail at the western end of the route and visit the woodland trails at nearby Mortimer Forest.
