Culver Hole Walk

1.4 miles (2.3 km)

This circular walk explores a scenic stretch of the Gower Coast above Port Eynon Bay, visiting the distinctive Culver Hole Cave set high in the limestone cliffs overlooking the bay.
The route follows clifftop paths through open coastal grassland, with expansive sea views across Port Eynon Bay and west towards Rhossili, as well as inland views over gently rolling farmland.
Culver Hole is a man-made cave cut into the cliff face and is widely believed to date from the medieval period, possibly used as a dovecote or storage chamber. Its large arched stone entrance is clearly visible from the clifftop path and from the beach below, making it one of the more unusual historic features on the Gower Coast.... The cave is fenced for safety, but it can be viewed easily from the surrounding paths.
The walk continues along exposed headlands above the bay, with steep cliffs dropping to rocky shores below. Sections of the route follow well-established coastal paths, including parts of the Wales Coast Path, though the ground can be uneven and exposed in places. This short circular walk combines coastal scenery, sea views and an unusual historical landmark, offering a rewarding outing on the southern edge of the Gower Peninsula.
