Bainbridge to Askrigg Walk

This walk takes you from Bainbridge to Askrigg in North Yorkshire. Starting in Bainbridge you head north to cross the River Ure before heading east along the river towards Askrigg.
The route follows a peaceful section of Wensleydale, with the River Ure providing a scenic backdrop as you make your way between the two villages.... The surrounding landscape is typical of the Yorkshire Dales, with green pastures, dry stone walls and rolling hills creating attractive views along the way.
Bainbridge is a historic village with attractive stone buildings and a pleasant village green, while Askrigg is one of the best-known villages in Wensleydale. Askrigg's attractive stone cottages and historic buildings have also made it a popular filming location, most famously appearing as the village of Darrowby in the television series All Creatures Great and Small.
This is a short and relatively straightforward walk, making it a good option for enjoying the countryside between two of Wensleydale's most attractive villages without taking on a longer route.
