Bathampton Meadows Walk

This walk explores the Bathampton Meadows Nature Reserve in Bath. Start the walk from the parking area by the river in Batheaston and then follow the Circuit of Bath Walk west along the river before turning south to enter the reserve.
The route takes you through the attractive countryside around the River Avon, with peaceful riverside paths and views towards the surrounding hills.... As you enter Bathampton Meadows, the landscape opens out into a broad area of grassland and floodplain, providing a pleasant contrast to the urban surroundings of Bath. The meadows are an important green space for local wildlife, with wildflowers, mature trees and areas of wet grassland attracting a variety of birds and other wildlife. The route also provides views towards Bathampton and the hills around the Avon Valley.
The walk offers a pleasant way to combine the River Avon and Bathampton Meadows with the historic city of Bath, with the Circuit of Bath Walk providing a waymarked route through this scenic part of the city outskirts.
