Blakeney to Stiffkey Coastal Walk

3.7 miles (6 km)

This walk takes you from Blakeney to Stiffkey along the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path.
It's just under 4 miles along the flat trail, passing Morston on the way.
The trail immerses you in the internationally recognised landscape of the Blakeney National Nature Reserve. As you leave the flint-walled houses of Blakeney behind, the path follows the sea wall, offering elevated views across a labyrinth of tidal creeks and saltmarshes.... A key highlight of the journey is passing through Morston Quay, a bustling hub where traditional wooden boats depart for seal-spotting trips to Blakeney Point. This area is a haven for nature lovers; keep an eye out for the brilliant blue of a kingfisher or the distinctive "V" of a marsh harrier soaring over the reedbeds.
As the route continues toward Stiffkey, the landscape opens up into a vast expanse of sea lavender and samphire, which carpets the marshes in vibrant purples and greens during the summer months. This stretch is famous for its sense of tranquility and the "big skies" that define the North Norfolk coastline. The trail is largely level and follows the natural curve of the Freshes, providing a sanctuary for wading birds like avocets and curlews. Arriving in Stiffkey, famous for its "Stiffkey Blues" cockles, you’ll find a quintessentially Norfolk village atmosphere that serves as a perfect end to this 4-mile trek through one of the UK’s most vital ecological habitats.
