Bude to Northcott Mouth Walk

This walk takes you from Bude to Northcott Mouth along the South West Coast Path. The route runs for just under 2 miles following the waymarked trail north to Crooklets Beach and Maer Down before finishing at Northcott Mouth.
Leaving Bude, the path passes Crooklets Beach, one of the town's principal surfing beaches, where a broad expanse of sand is revealed at low tide.... The route then climbs gently onto Maer Down, an area of open coastal grassland occupying a prominent headland above the sea. From here there are wide views along the north Cornwall coast, back towards Bude and north towards the cliffs and beaches of the Devon border.
The final section follows the cliff tops to Northcott Mouth, a quieter beach backed by steep grassy slopes and crossed by a small stream. At low tide, extensive rock platforms are exposed along the shoreline, while the surrounding cliffs provide a habitat for a variety of coastal plants and nesting seabirds. The contrast between the busy beaches of Bude and the more secluded character of Northcott Mouth makes this a rewarding short walk with excellent coastal views throughout.
