At the eastern end of the site you could enjoy some post walk refreshment at the Doffcocker Inn. There's a charming old interior with cosy fireplaces and wood panelling. There's also a garden area for warmer days. You can find the pub at 780 Chorley Old Rd, BL1 5QD. Just across the road there's also the Hope & Anchor Inn which is another friendly, old fashioned pub close to the reserve.
The site is popular with dog walkers so you'll probably see other owners on your visit. The Hope and Anchor mentioned above is also dog friendly.
