Lydstep to Manorbier Coastal Walk

2.7 miles (4.4 km)

This walk takes you along a section of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from Lydstep to Manorbier Castle.
Spanning just under 3 miles, the linear route offers a concentrated experience of the Pembrokeshire coastline's dramatic limestone geology and military history. Heading west from Lydstep Haven, the path climbs onto the clifftops, passing the perimeter of Manorbier Camp.... This Ministry of Defence site serves as a reminder of the area's strategic importance, with the modern installations contrasting sharply with the ancient, rugged cliffs that have been battered by the Atlantic for millennia. The terrain here is relatively level along the heights but features the sheer drops and narrow tracks typical of the National Trail.
As you continue toward the prominent headland of Priest's Nose, the landscape reveals remarkable rock formations and deep sea caves carved into the limestone. This vantage point provides an excellent opportunity to observe coastal wildlife, with fulmars and jackdaws frequently nesting in the rock crevices and grey seals often seen bobbing in the swells below. The approach to Manorbier provides one of the most iconic views in Wales, as the medieval towers of Manorbier Castle come into sight, overlooking the golden sands of the bay and the 12th-century church of St James.
You can continue your walking on the popular Tenby to Lydstep Walk.
