Marlow to Windsor Thames Path

This popular waterside walk follows the Thames Path from Marlow to Maidenhead and Windsor. The route runs for just under 14 miles, following the waymarked path to Bourne End, Cookham, Maidenhead, Dorney Lake, Eton and Windsor.
Bourne End and Cookham are particularly attractive sections, with the river winding between islands, woodland and meadowland.... Cookham has strong literary connections as the former home of the artist Stanley Spencer, while Maidenhead is known for its historic bridge and riverside setting.
Dorney Lake provides a contrasting landscape further along the route. Built as a rowing and canoeing venue for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, it is surrounded by open parkland and is now an important sporting and recreational site.
The final section passes through Eton before reaching Windsor, where Windsor Castle dominates the skyline above the River Thames. The town also offers Windsor Great Park, the Long Walk and extensive historic streets and buildings, making it an excellent destination at the end of the walk.
