Thames and Severn Way

This walk follows the Thames and Severn Way from the River Severn at Upper Framilode near Frampton on Severn to the River Thames at Lechlade.
The 43 mile long-distance trail crosses the Cotswolds, linking the two great rivers via the route of the historic Stroudwater Canal and Thames and Severn Canal.... It passes through a varied landscape of riverside meadows, woodland, farmland and attractive Cotswold villages, with the canal and its restored features providing a fascinating link to the area's industrial heritage.
Along the way the route passes through or near Stroud, Brimscombe and the Golden Valley, before continuing through the countryside towards the Cotswold Water Park and Cricklade. The route also passes the site of the famous Sapperton Canal Tunnel, one of the major engineering achievements of the original canal.
The eastern section eventually joins the River Thames, following the river towards Lechlade. Here the Thames and Severn Way meets the Thames Path in a historic Cotswold setting, with the pretty riverside town providing an attractive finish to the walk.
