This short circular walk explores the Woodland Walk in Stoke Bruerne. The peaceful area is located right next to the Grand Union Canal Walk just north west of the village.
The Woodland Walk is a pleasant, family-friendly route through a small area of woodland above Stoke Bruerne, with a good surfaced path making it suitable for walkers of all abilities, including those using mobility scooters or wheelchairs.... Along the way there are benches where you can stop and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, with birdsong, woodland views and plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife.
A highlight of the walk is the collection of hidden animal sculptures dotted around the woods, providing an enjoyable trail for children to discover as they explore the paths. The route also links with the canal towpath, where you can watch narrowboats passing through the impressive Blisworth Tunnel, one of the longest canal tunnels in the country.
The walk is located close to the heart of Stoke Bruerne, a picturesque canal village known for its historic locks, stone cottages and waterside pubs. The nearby Canal Museum and cafés provide a good place to stop for refreshments, while the towpath offers the option to extend your walk through the surrounding Northamptonshire countryside.
