Worcester to Droitwich Canal Walk

This walk takes you from Worcester to Droitwich along a section of the Worcester and Birmingham Canal. The route runs for just under 10 miles following the towpath north east along the northern edge of Worcester towards Tibberton and Hadzor where you link up with the Droitwich Canal Branch.... Follow this west and it will take you into Droitwich where you finish at the canalside Vines Park.
The walk follows a peaceful stretch of the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, passing a mix of rural countryside, waterways and small settlements as it leaves the edge of Worcester. The towpath runs alongside traditional canal features including locks, bridges and aqueduct sections, with long views across open farmland and the valley landscape that surrounds the city.
Between Worcester and Droitwich the canal corridor provides a quiet route through Worcestershire’s countryside, with hedgerows, meadows and occasional stretches of woodland lining the water. This is a good area for birdlife, with herons, kingfishers and waterfowl frequently seen along the canal, particularly in quieter sections away from the main urban stretches.
As the route approaches Droitwich, it joins the historic Droitwich Canal Branch, an important link between the Severn and the wider canal network that reflects the town’s long association with salt production and transport. The final approach into Droitwich passes restored canal structures and waterside paths before reaching Vines Park, a landscaped green space in the centre of the town with canalside walks, gardens and access to the historic heart of Droitwich Spa. worcteser * droitwich *
