Demesne Park Castlerea. The town is defined by its rich history and the lush landscapes of the Castlerea Demesne. This historic park, once the sprawling estate of the Sandford family, now serves as an oasis in the heart of the town with its expansive woodland trails and open parklands. The River Francis meanders through these grounds, offering peaceful riverside walks that eventually lead toward the River Suck and the Suck Valley Way, a significant long-distance trail that begins and ends in the town.
