Ladies View Killarney Walk

0.1 miles (0.2 km)

This walk visits Ladies View in the Killarney National Park.
Ladies View is a well-known viewpoint on the Ring of Kerry road within Killarney National Park, overlooking the Upper Lake and the surrounding mountains. The viewpoint takes its name from Queen Victoria’s visit in 1861, when members of her entourage are said to have admired the scenery from this location.
From the western car park, a short footpath leads to the main viewing area.... The path is brief and gently sloping, providing quick access to open rock outcrops and low vegetation where the panorama opens out across the lakes of Killarney, wooded islands and the rugged slopes of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and Purple Mountain.
The landscape is characterised by glacially shaped valleys, exposed rock and patches of heath and scrub, with changing light often altering the appearance of the water and mountains. Despite its roadside location, the short path allows visitors to step away from traffic and reach quieter vantage points, making it an easy stop that combines accessibility with one of the most recognisable views in Killarney National Park.
To the east of this walk there's another longer footpath which will take you towards Upper Lake.
You can continue your walking on the Derrycunnihy Wood and Falls Walk, the Muckross Lake Walk and the Lough Leane And Ross Castle Walk.
Torc Waterfall and the Devil's Punchbowl Mangerton Walk are also nearby.
