Glengarriff Woods and Lady Bantry's Lookout Walk

3.9 miles (6.3 km)

Starting from the main Glengarriff Woods Nature Reserve car park, this 6.2km loop, offers a comprehensive tour of the area's lush oak woodlands and river scenery.
The journey begins with a steady ascent through the ancient forest toward Lady Bantry's Lookout, where a steep set of steps leads to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the dramatic expanse of Bantry Bay and the surrounding Caha Mountains.... After descending from the lookout, the trail continues deeper into the reserve, following rugged paths that bring you to the Esknamucky Waterfall, a picturesque cascade nestled within the dense greenery. The route then meanders back toward the valley floor, eventually flanking the serene Glengarriff River, where the sound of crystal clear running water accompanies you through the final stretch of the walk. This moderate circuit effectively combines the reserve's most famous elevation gains with its tranquil waterside paths, providing a diverse experience of West Cork's natural heritage.
You can continue your walking in the area on the Barley Lake Glengarriff Walk.
