Marazion to Perranuthnoe Coastal Walk
2.2 miles (3.6 km)This walk follows the South West Coast Path from Marazion to Perranuthnoe. The 2.2 mile walk starts in Marazion opposite the historic St Michael's Mount.... From here you follow the waymarked path east past Basore Point, The Greeb and Perran Sands before arriving in Perranuthnoe.
The walk takes place on the shores of Mount's Bay, with continuous views across the water towards St Michael's Mount, one of Cornwall's most recognisable landmarks. The tidal island, crowned by its medieval castle and church, dominates the western views for much of the route and provides a striking backdrop to the coastal scenery.
Leaving Marazion, the path traverses low cliffs and coastal slopes above a series of small coves and rocky beaches. The Greeb forms a prominent headland on the route, offering elevated views across the bay towards Penzance, Newlyn and the distant hills of west Cornwall. The coastline here is generally more sheltered than much of Cornwall's north coast, with a mixture of pasture, scrub and maritime grassland descending towards the sea.
The route passes Perran Sands before reaching Perranuthnoe, a small village centred on a sandy beach backed by dunes and cliffs. Historically associated with fishing and smuggling, the village retains a quiet, traditional character and provides an attractive end point to this short coastal walk. The combination of sea views, historic landmarks and picturesque coastal scenery makes this one of the most rewarding shorter sections of the South West Coast Path in Mount's Bay.
To continue your walking in the area you could try the St Michaels Way or the Penzance to Marazion Coastal Path Walk.
