Queen's Valley Reservoir
1.9 miles (3.1 km)This walk visits the Queen's Valley Reservoir, near Gorey on the eastern side of Jersey.
The pleasant, waterside walk offers a tranquil escape through one of Jersey’s most picturesque inland settings. Starting from either the upper or lower car park, you follow a well-maintained, level perimeter path that winds gracefully around the water’s edge.... The route is divided into two distinct sections: the larger main basin and a smaller secondary loop, connected by a bridge that provides a perfect vantage point for spotting local waterfowl. As you stroll, the scenery shifts between open, grassy banks and sections sheltered by dense woodland, where the canopy reflects beautifully on the still surface of the water. The path is popular with joggers and families alike due to its gentle terrain and the abundance of wildlife, ranging from resident swans to darting dragonflies in the summer months. Passing the impressive dam wall provides a sense of the reservoir's scale and its vital role in the island's water supply. The entire circular journey typically takes about an hour at a leisurely pace, offering a peaceful atmosphere that feels worlds away from the busy coastal roads.
You can continue your reservoir walking on the island by heading west to visit Val De La Mare Reservoir.
