Ravensdale Forest Loop

1.6 miles (2.5 km)

This waymarked circular walk explores Ravensdale Forest near the village of Ravensdale in County Louth.
It's a lovely place for a peaceful walk with mixed woodland, mountain streams, and interesting archaeological sites. From the high points there are great views to Slieve Gullion, the Mourne Mountains, and the sea.... It's great for wildlife with woodland birds, deer and red squirrels to look out for.
The forest also contains interesting historical features, including a stone circle, standing stones, and old moss-covered bridges.
You can continue your walking in the area on the Tain Way which runs through the area. Head east and you could pick up the Carlingford Lough Greenway which is suitable for cyclists and walkers.
