Tacumshin Lake Walk
@ERROR miles (s**3.3 km)This walk visits Tacumshin Lake in south-east County Wexford. On the southern side of the lake there's footpaths with great views of the lake, the beach and the sea.
The lake is a shallow coastal lagoon separated from the sea by a narrow sand and shingle barrier, creating a landscape of mudflats, reedbeds and coastal grassland.... The shoreline changes through the year as water levels fluctuate, revealing feeding areas used by birds.
The lake is recognised for its importance to birdlife, particularly migratory waders and wintering wildfowl. Walking along the southern edge provides open, uninterrupted views across the water and towards the coast, with the flat, exposed setting typical of this stretch of the Wexford coastline.
You can continue your walking by heading east to visit Ladys Island Lake and Carnsore Point.
