Brent Eleigh and Monks Eleigh Circular Walk
This circular walk explores the area around the Suffolk villages of Brent Eleigh and Monks Eleigh.
The walk starts from the parking area in the neighbouring village of Lavenham. From here you pick up pleasant bridleways and country lanes to take you through the countryside to Monks Eleigh. The village church includes a 15th-century tower which can be seen from the surrounding countryside. Some houses situated around the village green date back to the 16th century, as does the Swan Inn. The inn is a fine place to stop for refreshments at what is roughly the half way point on the walk.
The route then returns to Lavenham via Brent Eleigh with some fine views over the fields.
The walk runs for just over 10 miles along fairly flat paths.
To continue your walking in the area head west to visit Melford Hall. The hall includes beautiful landscaped gardens, a croquet lawn and the impressive 15th-century Holy Trinity church.
