Brighton Coastal Walk

5 miles (8 km)

This coastal walk from Brighton take you along the seafront to Southwick, just to the west of the town. The walk runs for about 5 miles along a flat section of the Monarch's Way long distance trail.
You start next to the pier on Brighton seafront and head west to Hove. Here you can enjoy a short stroll around Hove Lagoon, one of the countries leading watersports centres offering wakeboarding, sailing, windsurfing, Kayaking and Standup Paddleboarding. You continue past Portslade to Southwick, where you can see the eastern end of Shoreham Habrour where there's a marina with many boats. The route finishes at the end of the Monarch's Way by the harbour mouth's east breakwater with nice views over to the town of Shoreham.
To continue your coastal walking in Brighton, try the popular Undercliff Walk which runs in the opposite direction. The path runs for about 3 miles along the sea wall with the wonderful white cliffs on one side and the shingle beach and sea on the other.
You can also try the Brighton to Newhaven Walk which will take you along an exhilarating clifftop path.
