Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This walk takes you from Long Melford to Lavenham along the old Long Melford–Bury St Edmunds branch line railway path.
The line opened on 9 August 1865 and closed to passengers on 10 April 1961 and freight on 19 April 1965.
The walk runs for about 4.5 miles following a section of the waymarked St Edmund Way along the old railway. The flat, shady path is lined by trees and includes some open areas with views of the surrounding countryside.
