Lough Mohra and Rath Beag Loop Walk

4.10 miles (6.6 km)

Open Streetmap This loop walk explores Glenpatrick Wood in County Waterford. On the walk you will visit two local highlights including Lough Mohra and Rath Beag.
The lake is a glacial coum and located in a lovely remote spot with beautiful countryside, forestry and mountains surrounding it. From the high points there are wonderful views towards the sea.
You'll also pass the ancient Rath Beag, an Iron age ring-barrow placed on top of a natural glacial feature. It is notable as Waterford's smallest ring fort.
Just to the north you can pick up the Suir Blueway. This shared cycling and walking trail runs along the River Suir between Carrick-on-Suir and Clonmel. The trail is a good way to extend your walking in the area.
