Portbury and Prior's Wood Walk

2.8 miles (4.5 km)

Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This circular walk explores the woodland area to the south of the Somerset village of Portbury.
The walk starts from the village centre close to the Priory pub where some parking is available. From here you can follow footpaths south into Priory's Wood where there are miles of peaceful woodland trails to try. The woods include small-leaved lime trees, oak, and hazel, and mature sweet chestnut. In the spring months there are beautiful carpets of bluebells to see.
You can continue your walking in the area by heading south to vist the historic Tyntesfield House and its surrounding parkland.
The long distance Gordano Round also runs past the southern edge of the woods.
