There is much to enjoy on this varied walk with peaceful waterside sections along the River Tone, the Grand Western Canal and the River Exe real highlights. Also stop for a visit at the lovely National Trust owned Killerton Park in Broadclyst. This 18th century house boasts a historic fashion exhibition and stunning gardens.
The route passes Wellington, Sampford Peverell, Tiverton, Bickleigh, Exeter and Powderham Castle before finishing on the Exe Estuary at Starcross.

The attractive village of Broadclyst is a fine place for a pit stop. Here you'll find the historic Red Lion for some rest and refreshment. The inn dates back to the 16th century and serves good quality food in pleasant surroundings. You can find them at postcode EX5 3EL for your sat navs.
On Whimple Road there's also The New Inn which has a lovely large garden area.
. Afterwards you can enjoy a stroll around the village and see the historic watermill, quaint old cottages and the noteworthy 15th century church.
