15.53 miles (25 km)

Follow National Cycle Route 65 on this lovely largely traffic free route. You start by the tourist information centre in Hull and soon join the Hornsea Rail Trail which forms part of the Trans Pennine Trail. This dismantled railway line track takes you all the way to Hornsea on the coast. Also of interest on the route is Hornsea Mere - the largest natural freshwater lake in Yorkshire.

The Disused Railway Station, Hornsea. In May 2005, the area to the south of the station was grassland, affording a good view of the arches of the old station building. The Hornsea to Southport cross country trail passes along this side of the station, and is very popular with both cyclists and walkers.

Bridge over the Lambwath Stream, Withernwick. This is at least the third bridge on this site. For a picture of the second bridge see TA1740 : Footbridge on the old Hull to Hornsea railway trackbed. Before that there would have been a railway bridge some 15-20 feet higher.
