National Cycle Route 42

This signed Sustrans route runs Chepstow to Glasbury via Usk, Abergavenny and Hay on Wye.
Along the way there's some nice views of the River Usk, historic castles and wonderful views of the Brecon Beacons to enjoy. You'll also pass the ancient Llanthony Priory which is well worth a visit.
The route is part of the epic Lon Las Cymru along National Cycle Route 8 which runs from Cardiff to Anglesey, passing through Snowdonia on the way.

- Abergavenny to Hay-On-Wye - Follow National Cycle route 42 through the wonderful Brecon Beacons National Park and enjoy fabulous views of the Black Mountains.
The ride starts in Abergavenny, heading north into the Beacons towards Cwmyoy with wonderful views of Sugar Loaf Mountain - Hay-on-Wye to Builth-Wells - This lovely waterside ride follows the River Wye and National Cycle routes 42 and 8 through Powys, with wonderful views of the Black Mountains.
You start in Hay-on-Wye following National Cycle route 42 towards Tregoyd where you join National Cycle Route 8 to Glasbury - Lon Las Cyrmry - National Cycle Route 8 - This epic Sustrans cycle route runs for nearly 250 miles through some of Wales' most beautiful scenery.
